KAMPALA — Commissioner for Water Resources Planning and Regulation in the Ministry of Water and Environment, Dr Callist Tindimugaya, is set to launch his memoir, The Flow of Purpose: From Streams of Childhood to Building Uganda’s Water Future, on Friday, September 18, 2026.
The launch will take place at Hotel Africana in Kampala, with former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dr Ruhakana Rugunda expected to preside over the event as Chief Guest.
The programme will begin with a Thanksgiving Mass at 3:30 p.m., followed by the official book launch at 4:00 p.m.
The event will feature speeches, a keynote presentation, a panel discussion reflecting on the key messages in the memoir and a book-signing session with Dr Tindimugaya.
The memoir traces Dr Tindimugaya’s journey from his childhood and seminary life through scientific training and decades of public service, highlighting his work in Uganda’s water sector at national, regional and international levels.
According to the organisers, the book explores themes of purpose, faith, discipline, perseverance, leadership and service, offering lessons to young people, professionals, leaders and other members of the public.
The memoir also encourages readers to reflect on how their talents, preparation and daily actions can contribute to a greater purpose.
A key aspect of the launch is Dr Tindimugaya’s decision to dedicate proceeds from the sale of the book to the primary and secondary schools that shaped his life, as well as churches with which he is associated in Kigezi and Kampala.
The organisers are therefore calling on members of the public, leaders, professionals, young people, academics and other well-wishers to attend the launch and support the initiative.
