Four suspects have been charged in connection with the murder of SC Villa captain Owor David and the robbery of a Congolese national, Dr Ombeni Jackson.
The suspects are Ahumuza David, Munguci Elvis alias Sadik Emmanuel Commander, Ssegawa Francis and Lubega Martin.
Prosecution led State Attorney Achingo Jemimah alleges that on August 4, 2026, the four suspects, together with others still at large, robbed Owor of two mobile phones and a bag containing personal belongings in Dubai Zone, Makindye Division.
The prosecution further alleges that Owor was killed during or around the time of the robbery and that the suspects acted with malice aforethought. They are therefore facing charges of murder and aggravated robbery.
In a separate case, the suspects are accused of robbing Dr Ombeni Jackson in Nabisaalu Zone, Makindye Division, on the same day.
According to the prosecution, the suspects stole property worth about Shs1.065 million, including an iPhone 11 Pro Max, USD 90 and a silver watch.
They are also accused of using a paver as a deadly weapon against Dr Jackson immediately before or after the robbery.
The four suspects appeared before Makindye Chief Magistrate Basemera Sarah Anne, where the charges in both cases were read and explained to them.
They did not plead to the murder charge because it is a capital offence that can only be tried by the High Court.
The suspects were remanded to Luzira Prison until September 10, 2026, when their cases will return to court for mention as police investigations continue.
