KAMPALA, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE) – Jubilee Insurance has donated scholastic material including mathematics tools to Primary Seven candidates at East Kololo Primary School and Shimon Primary School in Kampala to support their preparations for the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The donation comes as candidates prepare to sit their examinations on November 3 and 4, 2026, with the company saying the initiative is part of its corporate social responsibility programme aimed at supporting children and young people.

Speaking during the handover at East Kololo Primary School, Eugene Mutekhele said the donation was the first of several activities the company had planned to support children and youth in communities where it operates.

“We have come to distribute school material just to encourage the children to prepare well for their exams,” Mutekhele said.

He said Jubilee is also planning community cleaning initiatives in partnership with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to teach children proper waste disposal and the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

Mutekhele added that the company is also  preparing medical camps for vulnerable children and young people in partnership with Aga Khan University. The planned activities will include paediatric care, primary healthcare services and ear, nose and throat (ENT) reviews.

He said the initiatives are part of a wider partnership between Jubilee Insurance, KCCA schools and other partners to improve education, health and community welfare.

On her part, Shaherose Jamal Director from Jubilee Life and Health insurance said the company has operated in Uganda for more than 90 years.

She said the mathematical donated are intended to help candidates prepare for their examinations and encouraged them to work hard and aim for excellence.

“We want them to excel, work hard and not accept mediocrity,” she said, urging the learners to remain focused on their studies.

The donation was welcomed by Byaruhanga Ambrose, a teacher at East Kololo Primary School and chairperson of the village where the school is located.

Ambrose said the materials would help candidates, particularly in mathematics, noting that some parents had struggled to afford the required examination materials.

“We are so grateful that you have donated these scholastic materials to our candidates. They will help them mainly in the area of mathematics,” he said.

Ambrose expressed confidence that the learners would perform well, citing the lessons taught and revision exercises completed.

The donation highlights the role of private-sector partnerships in supporting public schools and helping learners access essential materials as they prepare for national examinations.
