Kayanja, Naiga emerge victorious in the year-end pool tournament

Ibrahim Kayanja alias the Machine, and Rukia Naiga have claimed victory in the highly competitive 2024 End of Year Pool tournament, which concluded on December 28, 2024.

Organized by the Uganda Pool Association, this event attracted over 64 participants, featuring notable players such as Ceasar Chandiga, Ibrahim Sejjemba, Hazard Lukomwa, Richard Wagaba (also known as Dog City), Joseph Kasozi (the Sharp Shooter), Ankah Sheilah, Rashida Mutesi, and Ritah Nimusiima, all of whom faced elimination.

In a thrilling final, Kayanja triumphed over Zimbabwe’s Kelvin Nkadu with a score of 9:7 in the men’s category, while Naiga secured her victory against her sister, Mutesi, famously known as the Beast, with a score of 6:4 in women category.

Kayanja alias the Machine clearing the last frame to victory.

Each of the winner went away with a cash prize of shs2million, a trophy and a medal.

Excitement is building among pool enthusiasts as they look forward to the Genesis Juniors Pool Tournament, set to take place on February 1, 2024, at the iTano Arena.

This tournament promises enticing rewards, including cash prizes, school fees, and scholarship materials for the winners. Players under the age of 17 are eligible to participate on confirmation of their age, and accommodation will be provided for those coming from up country.
