Thousands of Ugandans turned up in solidarity at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds today (August 31, 2025) for the 2025 edition of the Rotary Cancer Run, reaffirming national commitment to combating the growing burden of cancer in the country.
The annual event, now a mainstay on Uganda’s philanthropic calendar, drew participants from across all walks of life, corporates, students, children, families, health workers, and fitness enthusiasts, all united by a common cause: the fight against cancer.
The sea of runners clad in branded T-shirts, stretching across major roads near Kololo, was a testament not just to the popularity of the event but also to the rising public awareness about the threat of cancer and the importance of early screening. Participants had the option to compete in various race categories, including 5km, 10km, and 21km distances.
