MTN MoMo has launched its highly anticipated “Pay with MoMo & Win” campaign, aimed at rewarding customers who use MoMoPay for daily transactions.

This exciting campaign is part of MTN’s broader vision of simplifying payments, promoting a cashless economy, and furthering its Ambition 2025 goal to drive financial inclusion across Uganda.

As part of MTN’s mission to provide a secure, convenient, and affordable payment solution, the “Pay with MoMo & Win” campaign offers MoMoPay users a chance to win cashback on their transactions. Customers who pay using MoMo at merchants with a registered merchant code will stand a chance to win cash rewards, reinforcing the convenience of using MoMo for various payments, from groceries to transportation services.

Speaking on the launch of the campaign, Viola Namuyaba, Senior Manager Payments at MTN MoMo, emphasized MTN’s commitment to financial inclusion:

“At MTN MoMo, we are committed to empowering our customers through seamless financial services. The ‘Pay with MoMo & Win’ campaign rewards our loyal customers while promoting the use of cashless payments in everyday transactions. This is just one of the many ways we are driving financial inclusion as part of MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy, ensuring no one is left behind in the digital economy.”

With over one billion shillings in cashback and prizes up for grabs, the “Pay & Win with MoMo” campaign offers customers exciting rewards for simply using MoMoPay. To participate, customers need to make a transaction of 10,000 shillings or more at any merchant with a registered MoMo code. Each qualifying transaction automatically enters customers into a daily draw, giving them the chance to win a share of the billion-shilling prize pool, including cashbacks and grand prizes for larger transactions. Transactions such as bill payments, school fees, and taxes, which do not require merchant codes, will not be eligible for the promotion.

“With MoMoPay, we are simplifying how Ugandans handle their daily payments while giving them a chance to win. Whether you’re paying for groceries, transportation, or other services, MoMo is making life easier and more rewarding,” added Namuyaba.

To kick off the campaign, MTN MoMo had live “Pay & Win with MoMo” activations at various restaurants, fuel stations and supermarkets around Kampala. MTN MoMo customers will have to make their purchases using the MoMo merchant codes to win exclusive MTN MoMo merchandise, reinforcing the message that with Paying using MoMo is easy—it’s part of everyday life.

The “Pay with MoMo & Win” campaign is a continuation of the MoMo for Business initiative, “Zimba Business With MoMo,” launched in July, which focused on onboarding merchants to the MoMo platform. Now, with the merchant base firmly established, MTN MoMo is shifting focus to customers, encouraging them to embrace MoMoPay as a secure and reliable option for cashless payments.

By fostering a MoMo ecosystem, MTN MoMo is driving Uganda closer to a cashless economy, offering customers the convenience of paying for services without handling cash.
