Kampala, Uganda –MTN Uganda has been granted a new number range by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), further expanding its network to accommodate the growing demand for connectivity. The new 079 prefix now joins MTN’s existing family of number ranges, reinforcing MTN Uganda’s commitment to providing seamless and accessible communication services for all Ugandans.

Effective immediately, new customers can acquire MTN numbers within the 0790000000 to 0790999999 range, ensuring they can enjoy the full suite of MTN’s telecom and financial services. This development does not affect existing MTN numbers, and all customers will continue to experience the high-quality service they have come to expect from Uganda’s most trusted telecom provider.

With the addition of the 079 range, MTN Uganda reaffirms its position as the largest and most resilient telecommunications provider in the country. This expansion ensures that more Ugandans can benefit from:

  • Unmatched network coverage across the country
  • Innovative and affordable products and services tailored for everyday needs
  • Exclusive loyalty programs like MTN Prestige for high-value customers and MTN Senkyu for rewarding loyal users
  • Seamless financial solutions through MoMo by MTN, including Pay with MoMo, Market by MoMo, and Wesotinge, providing convenient access to savings, loans, and digital payments

MTN Uganda continues to uphold its promise of delivering reliable, affordable, and innovative solutions that empower its customers to stay connected and financially included.

MTN Uganda’s number ranges now include:

  • 077
  • 078
  • 031
  • 039
  • 076
  • 079 (latest)

To get a new MTN number within the 0790 range, customers can visit any MTN Shop or MTN Service Centre with their national ID to purchase a SIM card at the standard price of UGX 2,000.

MTN Uganda is committed to ensuring that all Ugandans stay connected through the most advanced, reliable, and customer-centric network in the country. Whether for communication, business, or financial transactions, MTN remains the number one choice for millions.
