KAMPALA,Uganda- Police in Kasangati have launched an investigation into the sudden and mysterious death of a senior State Attorney whose lifeless body was discovered inside her home days after she was last seen.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Ms. Fatumah Bbuye Nabiwemba, an attorney attached to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) headquarters.
“The incident was reported to police on the evening of July 10, 2025, at around 8:36 p.m. by Mr. Hamuza Kabanda, a driver at the DPP headquarters,” said ASP Owoyesigyire.
Preliminary police findings suggest that Ms. Nabiwemba had not been seen at work for approximately four days before her body was discovered at her residence in Wampeewo, Kasangati Town Council, where she lived alone.
“A team of detectives led by the Division Police Commander visited the scene, conducted a thorough search, and recovered several items of evidential value,” Owoyesigyire confirmed.
The body was transferred to the City Mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigators work to establish the cause and circumstances surrounding her death.
“The investigation is still ongoing,” Owoyesigyire stated.
