Ugandan singer Nandor Love has offered some blunt advice to fellow musicians who prefer singing in English over local languages.
In a recent interview with local TV station, Galaxy TV, the ‘Kinawolovu’ hitmaker suggested that those who heavily rely on English in their music should consider taking their careers abroad.
“We have musicians who sing a lot of English. They should go and sing in America,” she said.
When it was pointed out that many local artists choose English to appeal to an international audience, Nandor Love remained unconvinced.
“If they want to go international, they should just go and sing in America, which is international,” she added firmly.
Her comments have sparked discussion about language, authenticity, and the challenges of breaking into the global music scene while staying rooted in local identity.
