KAMPALA, Uganda — The leadership of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Kampala has today unanimously endorsed the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anitah Among, for the position of 2nd Vice Chairperson (Female) on the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC).
The endorsement was declared during a special leadership meeting convened in Kampala, where party leaders expressed confidence in Hon. Among’s capabilities and commitment to the NRM’s vision.
“I, alongside my fellow leaders in Kampala, firmly believe that Hon. Anitah Among’s inclusion on the CEC will amplify the party’s ability to address the challenges facing Ugandans, especially women,” said Salim Uhuru, the mayor for Kampa Central division council also the National Resistance Movement chairperson, Kampala central
He added that “Her leadership in Parliament has demonstrated strategic thinking, discipline, and unwavering dedication to the principles of the Movement.”
The endorsement positions Hon. Among as a strong contender in the internal CEC elections, as NRM prepares for a renewed leadership direction in the coming years.
NRM Supporters in Kampala argue that Anitah’s elevation to the party’s highest decision-making organ would not only strengthen female representation but also bring valuable legislative experience to the CEC.
This development comes as the party continues to align its leadership structure with evolving national priorities under the guidance of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the broader goals of the NRM.
