KAMPALA, Uganda: The Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt Hon. Richard Todwong, has pledged the party’s support towards the upcoming MK Birthday Run, contributing Shs10 million to the cause.
Speaking during his visit to the PLU Secretariat on Wednesday, Todwong congratulated the organisers and participants, noting the significance of the event in mobilising Ugandans, particularly the youth, around shared national values and causes.
Todwong also commended Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, for his leadership and influence, describing him as a strong role model who continues to inspire many young people.
He emphasised that the run, which coincides with Gen. Muhoozi’s 52nd birthday, reflects maturity, experience, and a continued commitment to national service and social transformation.
He called upon all NRM members, supporters, and well-wishers to participate in the run scheduled for Sunday, adding that the party would officially take part in the event.
