The NRM secretariat officials have asked party leaders of Kikuube district to remain united as campaigns for the LC5 by-election seat gain momentum. The NRM party is relying on a grassroot mobilisation approach to consolidate support of their candidate, Paddy Kisembo.
While traversing Kyangwale and Kabwoya sub counties today, Dr Rosemary Seninde, NRM’s Director of Mobilization urged party leaders to remain strong and united behind Paddy Kisembo.
“We shouldn’t allow ourselves to be misled by self-seekers who aim to confuse the population. As NRM we have only one candidate that we nominated to carry the party flag. And as our ambassadors, we are delegating you to reach out to each and every voter to deliver the message of prosperity,” Hon.Seninde said.
Seninde guided that “even when you may not like Kisembo as a person, please campaign and vote for him because he represents President Museveni and the NRM government. NRM is bigger than every one of us even when we have individual interests, we must prioritize the interests of the movement.”
She also told leaders that Kisembo is a capable leader who is willing, if elected, to team with government and other leaders to transform the people of Kikuube district.
“Let us respect the decision of the party for the good of the area. If you choose wrongly, it is Kikuube to lose and not President Museveni. The party trusts that Kisembo will ably fulfill the NRM manifesto,” Seninde said.
Hon. Jane Alisemera, the Commissioner of the NRM Electoral Commission said they are ready to do whatever it takes to deliver victory “because Kikuube district is fully NRM and cannot allow the opposition to easily penetrate their ‘territory’.
“We lost our Chairman Banura at a time he was preparing to resume serving the people of Kikuube but our mission and manifesto remains to improve the welfare of the people For the sake of progress, support Kisembo to link you to the government for better service delivery,” Alisermera said.
Paddy Kisembo while addressing the leaders said he stands for unity of all the people of Kikuube, modernization of agriculture, infrastructure development like good roads, and bridges to deliver goods to the markets and get better proceeds.
He also reiterated his commitment to improve the education standards within Kikuube schools.
“My emphasis will be on improving our schools especially at the primary level because for many years we haven’t been performing well in UNEB,” Kisembo said.
