The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has announced the promotion of ten Senior State Prosecutors to the position of Principal State Prosecutor, marking a significant step in strengthening prosecutorial leadership within the institution.
The development was revealed on 25th July 2026 in a statement issued by ODPP Public Relations Officer Jacquelyn Okui, who said the promotions followed a competitive internal recruitment process conducted recently by the Public Service Commission.
The promoted officers are Owor Deovoter Beatrice, Faucan Patricia Cingtho, Namuya Emmanuel, Akite Miriam Grace, Luzinda Bernard, Toskin David Chebet, Agulipa Patrick, Mutebi Isaac Gyagenda, Tuhairwe Addan, and Namuwaya Beatrice.
According to Okui, the promotions recognize the officers’ dedication, competence, professionalism, and commitment to advancing the mandate of the ODPP.
Their elevation to the rank of Principal State Prosecutor reflects the Office’s commitment to rewarding merit and enhancing the capacity of its prosecutorial leadership.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Lino Anguzu, congratulated the officers on their new appointments and urged them to uphold integrity, excellence, and impartiality as they carry out their responsibilities.
