Police investigate fatal stabbing, five arrested in drug operation

Police in Wakiso District are investigating the killing of a 56-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed in the neck during a disagreement.
The incident happened at about 4pm on 19 September 2026 in Kabowa Banda Village, Mende Sub County.
According to police, 24-year-old Muwanguzi David allegedly picked up a piece of glass during the disagreement and stabbed Kisambira Meddy in the neck, inflicting fatal injuries.
“Police responded to the scene, processed and documented it, and recovered relevant exhibits,” Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy public relations officer Luke Owoyesigyire said.
The suspect was arrested and the victim’s body was conveyed to Mulago KCCA Mortuary for a postmortem examination, police said.
“Investigations are ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available,” Owoyesigyire said.
Meanwhile, police in Wakiso have also arrested five people in an operation targeting suspected drug-related activities in Garamba and Busonko trading centres.
The operation was conducted by officers from Matugga Police Division at about 1am on 20 September following public concerns over the activities of suspected drug users in the area.
“Five suspects were arrested, and suspected narcotic substances were recovered,” Owoyesigyire said.
The suspects have been charged and are awaiting arraignment before court.
Kampala Metropolitan Police said it would continue conducting operations against activities that undermine public safety and order in the area.
