Police in Wakiso District have launched an urgent investigation after a newborn baby boy was discovered abandoned in a chilling incident that has stunned residents of Bulenga, Kikaaya.
According to authorities, the drama unfolded at around 1:00 a.m. on December 4, 2025, when Annet Namaganda, a businesswoman from Kikaaya, and her neighbour stumbled upon a heavy trail of blood while walking home. The Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Rachel Kawala, said the two followed the trail, only to find a newborn baby boy, still attached to the placenta, lying helplessly on the ground.
The two Good Samaritans quickly rushed the infant to a nearby clinic, where medical workers cleaned and wrapped him before handing him over to police at Bulenga Police Station.
Police have since visited and documented the scene, and an active search is underway to trace the baby’s parents.
The newborn has been transferred to a children’s home for proper care as investigations continue.
