KAMPALA, Uganda: The Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) has confirmed that the 9th edition of the PRAU Excellence Awards will take place on December 4, 2025, at the Protea Hotel in Kampala. The ceremony, which begins at 5:00 PM, will be held under the theme “Recognising Innovation and Impact in Public Relations.”
Established to honor outstanding work in Uganda’s public relations sector, the PRAU Excellence Awards celebrate the dedication and professionalism of individuals, organizations, and communication practitioners who continue to advance the industry.
PRAU President Irene Nakasiita highlighted the importance of the awards as a platform that elevates PR practice nationwide. She noted that the initiative forms part of PRAU’s five-year strategic plan, which emphasizes professionalism, ethical practice, and enhancing value for its members.
According to her, the awards encourage practitioners who act as brand custodians and promote strategic communication in their organizations, ultimately influencing positive organizational narratives.
Nakasiita further explained that the awards reaffirm the role of PR in driving organizational and national development. She expressed gratitude to partners who continue to support PRAU’s mission and encouraged practitioners and all who value the profession to purchase tickets and attend the event.
Ticket prices are set at Ushs 250,000 for PRAU members and Ushs 300,000 for non-members, while students will pay Ushs 100,000. A corporate table for ten will be available at Ushs 3 million.
This year’s edition will feature 13 award categories, including media relations, events and experiential campaigns, internal communication, crisis communication, CSR and sustainability, public affairs, corporate communication, nonprofit communication, publications, digital communication, PR agency of the year, overall PR campaign, and a lifetime achievement honor.
The 2025 awards will spotlight campaigns that demonstrate creativity, originality, and innovation. Judges will pay special attention to how each initiative contributes to stakeholder satisfaction and supports organizational objectives.
