KAMPALA, Uganda : President Yoweri Museveni has appointed veteran broadcaster Allan Kasujja as the new Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, this website has learnt.
In a letter dated January 27, 2026, addressed to the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, President Museveni said he had been briefed on management challenges at the Media Centre, prompting his intervention.
“I have received your letter dated November 27, 2025, regarding the Media Centre. I was not aware of the ongoing manoeuvres,” Museveni wrote.
“I have already directed Dr Chris Baryomunsi to appoint Allan Kasujja as Executive Director of the Media Centre. We can then look at the others.”
Who is Allan Kasujja
Born in 1978, Kasujja spent his early childhood in Kenya, where his family sought refuge during the turbulent period of Idi Amin’s regime.
He began his media career in the 1990s at Sanyu FM before moving on to Capital FM and later working in television. In 2012, he joined the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), where he became a regular presenter on the flagship programme Newsday.
