The Presidential Special Envoy in charge of Buganda, Joseph Mukasa Sewava, has warned individuals who use social media to abuse others, especially members of the First Family, to stop.
Sewava said it is wrong to insult President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, First Lady Janet Museveni, and Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, noting that such behaviour is unacceptable.
He made the remarks while praising the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, for speaking out strongly against corruption. Sewava said Mayiga has, on several occasions, condemned corrupt practices and encouraged Ugandans to uphold integrity.
He also called on government ministers to take services closer to the people so that communities can directly benefit from government programmes.
Sewava commended the Minister for Local Government, Hon. Barugahara Balaam Ateenyi, State House Comptroller Jane Barekye, and Presidential Private Secretary Gloria Asio Omaswa for their efforts in the fight against corruption.
He urged leaders and the public to work together to eliminate corruption and promote respect, especially on social media.
