15th May 2025 is the deadline for displaying of the National Voters Register. The exercise begun on 25th April.

In preparation for the 2025-2026 General Elections, and in accordance with Section 26 of the Electoral Commission Act (Cap 176), the Electoral Commission  embarked on this  exercise.

In this period, the display of the Voters Register begins at 8:00 am and end at 6:00 pm every day, including weekends, at all polling stations throughout Uganda.

The purpose of this display exercise is to enable voters to:

  • Check for the correctness of their particulars on the Voters Register;
  • Confirm that their photographs appear against the correct particulars on the Voters Register;
  • Raise objections to the inclusion and/or removal of a voter’s particulars from the Register;
  • Report to the Display Officer, the following categories of persons (if they appear on the Register) for removal; Those who have died, Those who are under 18 years of age, those who reside or originate from a parish other than the one they are registered in; and,Those who appear more than once on the Voters Register.

Please note that any eligible voter who applied for registration but whose particulars are missing on the Voters Register will be able to present his/her case for inclusion on the Register.

After the display exercise, the lists of persons recommended for deletion from the National Voters Register shall also be displayed for ten (10) days, from 16th May to 26th May 2025, at each respective Parish/Ward Headquarters.

This supplementary display exercise aims at enabling any person who may have been wrongly recommended for deletion to object to the Parish/Ward Tribunal.

The Parish/Ward Tribunal shall consider and make the final decision concerning recommendations for inclusion, deletion, or correction made by the public.

The general public should carefully note the following:

  • This is a very important exercise, which could determine whether you vote on polling day or not.
  • Fresh application for registration as a voter or application for transfer to another voting location shall not be accepted during this Display exercise;
  • The display officers are physically stationed at each respective polling station throughout the entire display period. This is to enable voters to conveniently locate their polling station, especially those that might have been affected by the re-organisation of polling stations.
  • The Display exercise is being  conducted with utmost impartiality and officials allow any interested member of the public, including agents of political parties, to witness the exercise.
