KAMPALA, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE) –
The organisers of the Annual Corporate Run have announced plans to distribute 5,000 mama kits to expectant mothers and health facilities in Buvuma Island and Bamutakudde village.
The 4th edition of the Corporate Run is scheduled for October 11, 2026, with organisers saying the initiative aims to promote safe and hygienic childbirth and reduce preventable maternal and neonatal deaths.
The initiative builds on the success of the previous three editions, which delivered 3,000 mama kits to six health centres allocated by the Ministry of Health.
Each mama kit contains essential sterile supplies, including surgical blades, cotton wool, gloves, soap and umbilical cord ties. The supplies are intended to help prevent infections during childbirth and support health workers in providing safer deliveries.
Organisers said the campaign is focused on ensuring that expectant mothers have access to basic resources needed for safe delivery, while supporting skilled birth attendants.
The Corporate Run is being held under the theme #RunForExpectantMothers, with the organisers calling on the public and corporate community to participate.
