The Council for Abavandimwe has launched its university students’ chapter to mobilize and canvass votes for the NRM presidential candidate, in appreciation of the recently signed executive order that granted them full access to key national documents.
This was announced during a ceremony held at Speke Hotel, attended by more than 300 students drawn from different universities. The event was dubbed the “Tuzamutora Museveni Students Conference 2025.”
Members narrated how the presidential executive order has enabled them to access essential national documents—including national identity cards and passports for external travel and other services.
The delegations commended Frank Gashumba, the chairperson of the council, and Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice Chancellor of Victoria University, for championing their rights as enshrined in the Constitution of Uganda. They noted that the duo’s efforts have made it possible for them to obtain these key documents without the difficulties they faced in the recent past.
They pledged to voluntarily go out into communities across the country to canvass votes for Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the NRM presidential candidate, so that he can be re-elected into office come January 15th, 2026.
