The police police have recovered a an explosive device at the residence of local artiste Patrick Mulwana commonly known as Alien Skin.
According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, on July 1, 2025, at approximately 3:30pm, police received a report regarding a suspected explosive device, believed to be a grenade, at the musician’s residence.
Onyango stated that upon arrival at the scene, located in Nakinyogozi, Makindye Division, Alien Skin personally handed over the device to the responding officers.
He reportedly informed police that the grenade had been discovered by his construction workers while they were digging a foundation on his property.
Police immediately secured the area, and a specialized bomb squad was deployed to assess and safely handle the situation.
Onyango confirmed that the team carried out a controlled detonation of the device, which was later identified as a Russian-made hand-thrown grenade.
The scene was thoroughly documented and processed by police investigators.
Onyango urged the public to remain vigilant and exercise extreme caution upon encountering any suspicious items.
He emphasized the importance of not touching or moving such objects and instead contact the police immediately for proper handling.
