The commissioning ceremony, presided over by the Minister of Works and Transport, Hon. Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to upgrading national infrastructure and enhancing passenger comfort.

The new lounge, tailored for business-class passengers, represents a major step in transforming Entebbe International Airport into a competitive, world-class travel hub.

The Director General of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), Mr. Fred K. Bamwesigye, has emphasized the significance of this development, stating that the facility was expanded and relocated in response to growing demand and increased international passenger traffic.

“The project to expand the Karibuni Lounge commenced in 2024 with the primary objective of enhancing the travel experience for business travellers. I am proud to report that this objective has been fully achieved,” Mr. Bamwesigye said.
