Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has issued a stern warning to individuals or groups planning to disrupt his campaigns, saying such actions will be met with firm resistance.

Addressing journalists at Mountain Inn Hotel in Mbale, Mafabi said he is fully prepared to defend his campaign activities and ensure his supporters can operate peacefully across the country.
“We are ready for anyone who thinks they can interfere with our campaign. We shall not be intimidated,” Mafabi warned.
The FDC leader’s remarks follow violent clashes on Tuesday in Kachomo Town Council, Budaka District, where supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) allegedly attacked FDC members, leaving several people injured.
Mafabi revealed that police arrested some of the perpetrators, but he chose to pardon them, describing it as their first offense and offering them an opportunity to reform.
“We forgive them this time because they may not have known better. But next time, we shall not tolerate such behavior,” he said.

Mafabi called on NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to advise his supporters against acts of violence, saying that political competition should remain peaceful and issue-based.
He reaffirmed the FDC’s commitment to maintaining calm but warned that his team was capable of defending itself if provoked.

“We are ready to protect our supporters and our message. We want peace, but we shall not sit back while being attacked,” he emphasized.
