KISORO, KIGEZI REGION — Police in Kisoro District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a 50-year-old Rwandan national who died while travelling on a bus from Kampala to Kisoro.
The deceased has been identified as Bubeneri Sylvia, a resident of Kinyababa Sub-county in Burera District, Rwanda.
According to Nelson Tumushime SP PRO, Kigezi Region police, on August 26, 2026, at around 11:00 a.m., they received information from the management of Friendship Bus Company that a passenger, identified as Bubeneri Sylvia, had been found unresponsive inside a bus, registration number UBL 996 L, which was travelling from Kampala to Kisoro.
Police responded immediately and conveyed the deceased’s body to the Kisoro Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
