Rotary Club of Kiwafu Breeze Muyenga has announced plans to host a Medical Camp at Greenhill Academy, in Kampala -Namuwongo, Makindye Division, on 15th April 2026.
This was announced during the club’s maiden Women’s Day celebration, held at Afro Park Hotel in Muyenga. The event was organised by the club’s newly launched Buddy Group as part of its planned activities.
The Buddy Group Chairperson, Solomon Adibola, told the more than 30 members in attendance that they recognise and appreciate the outstanding contributions of women members to the club’s projects and activities.
“We took a decision as the club’s Buddy Group to appreciate and thank our women colleagues for the great work and contribution made towards our club. This is why we are hosting this maiden celebration,” Solomon noted.
Rotarian Dennis Paulo Kavuma thrilled members by reciting a poem that applauded women Rotarians for their dedication to serving humanity through active participation in planned activities.
The club also recognised outstanding women members, including Diana Sentongo, Yudaya Musis, Tracy Nagawa, Joy Maraka, Kathryn Victoria Guttabingi, Catherine Aduba, and Cynthia Baitwa, among others, for their commitment to service.
Speaking about the upcoming medical camp, Tracy Nagawa, Executive Director of Sickle Cell Rescue Foundation Ltd (SRF), confirmed the Greenhill Academy event. She noted that the initiative will target educational institutions in the area, as well as residents and industrial workers.
Accompanied by the Public Relations and Community Engagement Officer, Musiimenta Euniky, Nagawa explained that activities will include testing for sickle cell, malaria screening, nutrition education, and mental health assessments, among other medical services.
The organisers expressed gratitude to DFCU Bank and other development partners for supporting the initiative. They added that similar outreach programmes will extend to Kampala International University and Clarke University in April, before the close of the Rotary activity calendar in May.
The club also emphasised its commitment to expanding community engagement programmes and appreciated both financial and logistical support from its partners, including DFCU Bank.
