The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a final reminder to all school heads and directors to ensure that all eligible learners are registered before the late registration deadline, which expires at midnight today, July 31, 2026.

The deadline applies to candidates sitting this year’s Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.

According to Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, Principal Public Relations Officer at UNEB, this is the final opportunity for schools to register eligible candidates, warning that no registration will be accepted after the deadline.

“This is a final reminder to all school heads and directors to ensure that learners in candidate classes are duly registered so that no learner is left out. After today’s deadline, there will be no more registration of candidates for all levels,” Kalule-Musamba said.

UNEB clarified that candidates are considered successfully registered only after the required registration invoice has been fully paid.

During the late registration period, PLE candidates are required to pay Shs68,000, reflecting a 100 percent surcharge, while UCE and UACE candidates must pay Shs246,000 and Shs279,000, respectively, after a 50 percent surcharge.

The Board also reminded Heads of Examination Centres and Inspectors of Schools that today is the final day for submitting registration files to UNEB.

Following the closure of registration, UNEB will conduct quality assurance checks before announcing dates for the display of candidates’ registers at schools. During this exercise, parents and candidates will be expected to verify their registration status and confirm that all personal details submitted are accurate.

For further assistance, UNEB has advised schools and parents to contact the Board through its customer care lines: 0417-773100, or the toll-free numbers 0800-211-077 and 0800-111-427.
