Police have arrested three men in connection with a robbery and alleged rape incident in Bujjasi Cell, Maya Ward, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, in which two women were allegedly sexually assaulted.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 4am on August 14, when three men allegedly broke into a saloon where female occupants were sleeping. The suspects are accused of stealing mobile phones and cash before allegedly sexually assaulting two of the victims multiple times.
“On 17 August 2026, an identification parade was conducted in accordance with the law, during which two victims identified Kato Enock among the suspects,” Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, said.
Police said the arrests followed investigations and leads gathered after the incident.
The three suspects remain in custody as detectives conduct further inquiries into the circumstances of the case and establish whether other people were involved.
The suspects are expected to be taken to court once investigations are completed, in accordance with the law.
Police have commended the victims for cooperating with investigators and urged members of the public to report criminal incidents promptly and provide information that could assist in ongoing investigations.
