KAMPALA, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE) – Gospel musician, Faith Robinah Kabugo professionally is a secondary teacher who since childhood had a dream and a heart to uplift lives of the less privileged in society. After graduating at Kyambogo University, thought would impact society through her profession directly but two years later realised that extra efforts, time and resources beyond and outside classroom were equally key to see her dreams evident.

This was the singer’s turning point practically, mentally and in her ministry. She dropped classroom duties and chased after her ambitions externally, alane that has made her give living testimonies. Her elasticity in mindset from classrooms to communities accounts for her current reputation and success both in the path of salvation and her ministry.

When she spotted how challenging it was to achieve the set goals and missions, Faith Robinah Kabugo agitated for an umbrella through which she could extend services to a sect of the population in target. She established Hosanna Child Youth and family ministry, a youth centered christian charity organisation based in Bendegere, Nkumba in Entebbe. Non profit motive but oriented and self driven on the impetus of supporting and uplifting lives of the innocent and less privileged locals in the vicinities.

“Empowerment focusing on discipleship, mentorship, and spiritual growth for children, teens and young adults. Also community outreach by providing practical support including food distribution, medical aid, school visits and family counselling are the outstanding achievements and testimonies in my ministry as a gospel musician and God’s chosen one,” Said Faith Robina Kabugo. She adds that through charity works, she also runs child sponsorship programs helping vulnerable children access basic needs and education.

Her Music journey

“Singing is my passion and part of my life, everytime i feel low, gospel music uplifts my inner man”, she says. The multi award winning gospel musician started her journey way back in Primary school exercising Music, Dance and Drama and also leading the Sunday school choir during childhood. This was a fertile ground and foundation through which she perfected lyrically and vocally, and started composing her own songs but written in an exercise book. Her catalogue has three music Albums.Faith Robinah engaged in professional music in 2006 when she released her debut 8 truck album named ‘ My time is coming’. The album had songs initially composed during Secondary section and included songs such as Oli wamaanyi, Teach me, Thank you among others, introducing her to the gospel music market. ‘ Kyali kisikirize’ is the musician’s second album also with eight songs including Holly ghost, Osobola, I am waiting and others. Her latest which is the third album titled ‘Opanga’ has 10 songs and among them include: Ngiwaako omusaayi, You and me, Merry christmas and other. The album has fetched in her docket six accolades, both from Kenya and Uganda differently and says, she is now working on the forth music album that will feature 10 trucks and to be released in the begining of 2028.

Background

Born in Lugazi, Mukono district, Faith Robinah Kabugo attended Lugazi Community Boarding Primary school, before joining Lugazi Community Comprehensive and Bishop SSS Mukono for O and A’ levels respectively. After, she joined Kyambogo university for a Bachelors Degree in Education.

She is a happily married mother of many children both biological and adopted ones, married for 18 solid years to pastor Micheal Kabugo in Entebbe. She attributes her success in all spheres to God who has fought and silenced all her battles including the most challenging moments.

Faith Robinah advises parents to monitor, counsel and share with their children the key aspects in their lives socially, economically and spiritually as a strategy to establish a hard working and God fearing next generation. She further appeals to single mothers to stop distancing children from their fathers, saying such rifts largely affects the innocent children but little do mothers mind about the likely outcomes and also forget that fathers remain domain in the lives of the children either in the short or long run.
