Absa Bank Uganda has recognised 13 outstanding dealer partners through the inaugural Titan Awards, a new annual initiative aimed at celebrating strategic partnerships that are expanding access to vehicle and productive asset financing across the country.

The awards recognise dealers whose commitment to excellence, innovation and customer service has enabled more individuals and businesses to acquire productive assets such as vehicles, tractors, construction equipment and machinery, supporting Uganda’s economic growth.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Absa Bank Uganda Managing Director David Wandera applauded the dealers for their continued collaboration in driving financial inclusion and business growth.

“Providing financing to individuals and businesses investing in productive assets is only possible because of the strong partnerships we have built with our dealer network. Behind every vehicle, tractor, bus or piece of construction equipment financed by Absa is a partnership between the Bank and our dealers. The Titan Awards recognise partners whose commitment to excellence, customer service and collaboration has enabled more Ugandans to access the financing they need to invest, grow businesses and strengthen communities,” Wandera said.

The recognition comes at a time when demand for asset financing continues to rise as businesses invest in equipment and machinery to boost productivity and competitiveness. According to the Bank of Uganda’s June 2026 State of the Economy Report, private sector credit remains on an upward trajectory, with housing and real estate accounting for 22 percent of credit, trade 14 percent, agriculture 12 percent, manufacturing 11 percent, and transport and communication 5 percent.

The Titan Awards celebrate excellence across Absa’s asset finance ecosystem, recognising dealer partners in passenger and commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, specialised business assets and environmental sustainability.

The Guest of Honour, Winstone Katushabe, Commissioner for Transport Regulation and Safety and Chief Motor Vehicle Licensing Officer at the Ministry of Works and Transport, commended Absa Bank for widening access to productive asset financing.

“A productive asset should not remain permanently beyond the reach of a farmer, an entrepreneur, a school or a growing business simply because they are unable to pay its full cost at once. It is encouraging to see banks such as Absa partnering with dealers and manufacturers to make these productive assets more accessible. These investments increase productivity, create jobs, strengthen safety standards and enhance the competitiveness of Uganda’s economy,” Katushabe said.

Among the winners, Motor Center was named Top Passenger Vehicle Dealer (Brand New), while Mighty Rides won Top Passenger Vehicle Dealer (Used). Double Q and Tata Uganda emerged as the leading partners in commercial vehicles for trucks and buses respectively. Pearltrac Uganda Limited and Afgri were recognised for their contribution to the construction and agriculture sectors, while Achilles Rental Uganda Limited received the Top Specialised Asset Supplier award.

Other winners included Al-Mamoun as Emerging Dealer of the Year, Motor Care for Highest Transaction Volume, Pacific Diagnostic for Highest Transaction Value, Double Q for Fastest Deal Turnaround Partner, and Kiira Motors as Environmental Champion of the Year for promoting sustainable mobility solutions.

Absa Bank Uganda Retail and Business Banking Director Moses Rutahigwa reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to making asset financing more accessible.

“Our promise to the market is to continue to avail financing when and where it is needed. This is demonstrated by initiatives like our partnership with Tata Uganda, which we rolled out last year to enable schools across Uganda to acquire modern, safe and reliable school buses through affordable asset finance. Our other incentives include flexible arrangement fees, repayments and affordable interest rates,” Rutahigwa said.
