A man was hacked to death on Monday (December 8, 2025) night in a violent attack inside a Fortbet betting hall in Wobulenzi Town Council, Luweero District.
The victim, identified as 36-year-old Jackson Sserumpanise, a conductor and resident of Kikoma Village, was attacked at around 8:30 p.m. on December 8, 2025.
According to police, the suspect, Masudi Serugo, allegedly entered the betting hall armed with a panga and inflicted multiple cuts on Sserumpanise, killing him on the spot.
Shortly after the incident, Serugo reportedly walked to Wobulenzi Police Station and surrendered himself. He was immediately taken into custody.
Police investigators rushed to the scene, documented evidence, and recorded witness statements as part of an ongoing homicide investigation.
The body of the deceased was later taken to Luweero Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
