Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has pledged to put the welfare of Ugandans at the center of his leadership, criticizing government actions that have displaced rice growers and fishermen without providing alternative livelihoods.
While campaigning in Bugiri District, Mafabi toured Nabukalu Sub-County, Busowa, Nankoma, Muterere Town Council, and Bugiri Municipality, rallying voters and sharing his vision for a better-governed Uganda.
Addressing residents across the district, Mafabi stressed that Uganda has the resources to deliver quality services, but only if led with good governance, accountability, and respect for citizens’ rights.
Mafabi pointed to his deep understanding of local challenges and extensive governance experience, pledging to lead with integrity and transparency.
His priorities include: infrastructure (Improved roads and reliable electricity); social services (well-equipped health facilities and quality schools); and support for the vulnerable (a monthly stipend of sh60,000 for citizens aged 60 and above).
He also vowed to tackle corruption, strengthen the economy, and raise household incomes nationwide.
Mafabi urged Ugandans to back his bid in the January 15, 2026 presidential election, saying the country needs experienced, principled leadership and a fresh approach to drive meaningful change.
