Police in Kabale are investigating a fire outbreak that destroyed household property worth millions of shillings in Nyangande Cell, Mwanjari Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
“Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire outbreak that damaged household property worth millions of shillings,” said SP Nelson Tumushime, the Kigezi Regional Police Public Relations Officer.
The fire broke out on Sunday, August 16, 2026, and reportedly started in one room before spreading to other parts of the house.
The Police Fire and Rescue Services responded to the incident and managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread further, preventing additional damage to property and neighbouring areas.
The exact cause of the fire and the total value of property destroyed remain unclear as investigations continue.
