Police in Natete have launched an intensive manhunt following a shocking case of attempted murder in Busega, Rubaga Division, where a 29-year-old man was allegedly stabbed multiple times by his wife in the early hours of Monday morning.
In a statement, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokespersonRachale Kawala, the attack occurred on January 6, 2026 at around 2:00am.
The victim, a salesman and marketer with Double Q Sinotruk and a resident of Busega Parish, reportedly suffered deep cuts and serious head injuries during the assault.
According to preliminary police findings, the suspect, identified only as Joy, allegedly turned on her husband inside their rented house.
The couple has been together for about two years and shares a nine-month-old baby. Investigators say the woman had earlier abandoned the child with the father on January 1, 2026, days before the violent incident.
The attack was discovered after the landlord was alerted and immediately notified police. A friend of the victim rushed him to Rubaga Hospital, where he was admitted for emergency treatment.
Police officers who responded to the scene found suspected blood stains on the floor, walls, and clothing inside the house. A panga believed to have been used in the attack was also recovered as evidence.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. Police say efforts are ongoing to trace, arrest, and bring her to justice.
Kawala warned domestic violence affects men as well as women.
She urged all victims to report abuse and seek help through the Child and Family Protection Units available at all police stations.
