Police in Kiboga is on a hunt for a man for allegedly defiling and killing a four-year old Janat Namuwayo.
According police reports, the incident happened on Christmas day, at Kindeke village in Kayera subcounty in Kiboga district at around 15:30hrs, when one of the causual laborers only identified as John is said to have picked a panga and attacked his fellow worker Identified as John Nsubuga John a male adult.
It is alleged that the suspects also cut down his own makeshift house.
According to Lameck Kigozi, the police spokesman for Wamala Region, Nsubuga who was resting at that time jumped out, as the attacker aimed at his head but managed told the attacker’s arms guard up which enabled him flee away with a deep cut wound on his arm.
However, the attacker turned the rage on Ruth Nakanjako who also ran away from her makeshift house leaving behind her four-year daughter Namuwayo.
It is alleged that the attacker dragged the child out of the makeshift shelter/house, carried her deep in the maize plantation and defiled her mercilessly and later strangled her to death.
Kigozi said the body of the deceased was recovered on the mid-morning of December 27, 2025, and taken to Kiboga hospital for postmortem examination.
Preliminary findings reveal that the suspect a known Marijuana addict was high on Marijuana at the time of behaving like a mad wolf.
“The suspect attempted to have an affair with the mother of the deceased but she rejected him in favour of Nsubuga John. The motive was to kill John by cutting in order to remain with Nakanjako. When both Nsubuga and Nakanjako fled away, the rage induced by marijuana was turned on the innocent baby left behind,” Kigozi noted.
He said the suspect is still at large and remains a dangerous person to the public.
Police appealed to anyone who knows him well to inform police on seeing him.
