KAMPALA,Uganda– As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives (MTIC) has donated support worth UGX 7 million to the elderly and needy residents of Mapeera Bakateyamba Home in Nalukolongo, Kampala.
The items were officially handed over by a delegation from MTIC led by Acting Permanent Secretary Mr. Deogratius Masagazi.
The donation was received by Sr. Maria Matilda Nakayiga on behalf of the Good Samaritan Sisters, who manage the facility.
Mr. Masagazi emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to inclusivity and social support, stating, “As a Ministry, we are dedicated to fostering positive change and supporting those in need. We recognize that our success is built on the foundation of diversity and inclusion.”
Mapeera Bakateyamba Home, established by the late Emmanuel Cardinal Nsubuga, provides care and shelter to over 60 elderly and vulnerable individuals.
The home is dedicated to upholding the dignity and well-being of its residents through compassion, care, and community engagement.
