MTN Uganda has  announced its sponsorship of the highly anticipated Tugende Mukikadde – The Legends Night Concert, set to take place at Sheraton Gardens Kampala on 7th December 2024.

The concert promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Uganda’s rich musical heritage, showcasing some of the nation’s most iconic artists.

For over 26 years, MTN Uganda has been at the forefront of supporting the country’s music industry. From launching legendary careers to providing innovative platforms for growth, MTN has played a pivotal role in shaping Uganda’s music story.

Betty Mpologoma commended MTN and the organisers of Tugende Mukikadde for always giving a platform to the legendaries in the musical industry

The Tugende Mukikadde concert underscores this ongoing commitment by bringing together some of the biggest names in Ugandan music.

This year’s stellar lineup includes Joseph Mayanja, Stecia Mayanja, Haruna Mubiru, Sister Charity, Ronald Mayinja, Charles Sekyewa, Mariam Mulinde, Godfrey Kibijigiri, and Betty Mpologoma. These legendary artists have delivered timeless hits that have captured the hearts of fans across generations, and the concert will provide a nostalgic journey through their greatest musical moments.

MTN Uganda’s GTM Digital Specialist, Mavis Ndagire Musungu, expressed the company’s pride in its enduring partnership with the music industry.

Ms Ndagire who was speaking during the press conference at the MTN headquarters on 20th November 2024 said that “At MTN, we believe that music is more than entertainment—it’s a universal language that brings people together, sparks joy, and celebrates our rich cultural heritage.”

“Events like Tugende Mukikadde showcase the enduring talent of our legendary artists and allow fans to relive the magic of their timeless hits.” she added.

Ndagire emphasized that, in addition to sponsoring the event, MTN remains committed to supporting Uganda’s music industry through innovative products designed to empower artists and enhance fan experiences. Among these is the Caller Tunes service, which enables artists to monetize their music, and the MoMo Ticketing platform, a solution that ensures transparent, safe, and efficient ticketing for concert organizers and fans alike.

To make the concert accessible to a wider audience, MTN has introduced exclusive discounts on tickets purchased through the MoMo Ticketing platform. Ordinary tickets are now priced at UGX 70,000, discounted from UGX 100,000, while gold tickets are reduced to UGX 240,000 from UGX 300,000. Individual tables for eight are available at UGX 3million, and corporate tables for eight are priced at UGX 4million.

Fans are encouraged to take advantage of these special offers by purchasing tickets through the MoMo Ticketing platform

“Beyond music, events like these align with MTN’s vision of connecting people, creating unforgettable moments, and enriching lives,” Ndagire added.

MTN Uganda extends its heartfelt gratitude to the artists headlining the concert, recognizing their enduring talent and contributions to the nation’s cultural legacy. The company also thanks the fans for their unwavering support, which has propelled these artists to legendary status.

The Tugende Mukikadde – The Legends Night Concert is set to be a remarkable evening of music, nostalgia, and celebration. MTN Uganda invites everyone to join in the excitement, spread the word, and secure their tickets for a night that promises to honor and celebrate Uganda’s musical heritage.
