ENTEBBE, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE) – NCBA Bank Uganda has concluded the Ugandan leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series with the final qualifying tournament held at Entebbe Club, marking the end of the country’s qualification events ahead of the regional Grand Finale scheduled for 27 November 2026 at Karen Country Club in Nairobi, Kenya.
Conrades Ahimbisibwe scored 105 nett to emerge as the overall winner of the second Uganda leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, held at the Entebbe Club.
The Entebbe qualifier follows the first tournament held at Uganda Golf Club on 13 June 2026, where Joseph Cwinyaai emerged winner after carding an overall 2-under 70. The two qualifiers have provided local golfers with an opportunity to compete for a place at the regional finale, where they will represent Uganda against golfers from across East Africa.
Cwinyaai and Ahimbisibwe have each earned an all-expenses-paid trip to Nairobi, including travel, accommodation and meals, to compete against the region’s finest golfers at the Grand Finale to be held at the renowned Karen Country Club in Nairobi.
Speaking at the tournament, NCBA Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer, Mark Muyobo, said the bank’s investment in golf reflects its commitment to growing the sport, nurturing talent and creating opportunities for golfers to compete at a regional level.
“Our commitment to golf goes beyond the tournaments. Through the NCBA Golf Series and Junior Golf Series, we are contributing to the growth of the sport by providing platforms for both established and emerging golfers to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and access opportunities beyond their local courses. It is about building a stronger golfing community and creating pathways for the next generation,” said Muyobo.
The bank’s support for golf also aligns with its brand purpose, “Banking on Belief. Empowering Ambitions,” through initiatives that enable individuals and communities to pursue their aspirations.
As part of its broader commitment to Change the Story, NCBA also integrates sustainability and community impact into its sporting engagements. Ahead of the Entebbe qualifier, the bank partnered with Vision Child Healthcare and Education Initiative to donate 50 household water filters to vulnerable families in Kasenyi Landing Site, helping improve access to safe drinking water and reduce exposure to waterborne diseases, particularly among fishing communities that rely on untreated lake water.
The initiative reflects NCBA’s approach to extending its impact beyond banking and sport by supporting practical solutions that improve livelihoods and promote environmental sustainability.
Muyobo commended Entebbe Club, participating golfers, partners and the NCBA team for their contribution to the success of the Ugandan qualifiers. He congratulated the winners who will proceed to Nairobi, encouraging them to represent Uganda with pride.
“To our qualifiers heading to Nairobi, we wish you the very best as you take on the next stage. And to everyone pursuing their ambitions, on the golf course, in business or in life, our message is simple: Go for it,” he said.
The regional Grand Finale in Nairobi will bring together qualifiers from across participating markets, celebrating sporting excellence, sportsmanship and the continued growth of golf across East Africa.
