Police have arrested nine male suspects following a late-night disruptive operation targeting crime-prone areas in Kinawataka, Nakawa Division, Kampala.
The Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said the operation was carried out at around 11:00pm on December 17, 2025, by officers from Jinja Road Police Station in collaboration with local defence units.
The coordinated sweep focused on the areas of Kago and Katogo in Mbuya I Parish, locations police have identified as persistent crime black spots.
According to police, the areas are known for harbouring criminal activities, including drug abuse and robbery. The suspects were arrested during the operation and charged with public nuisance.
They are currently being held at Jinja Road Police Station as they await prosecution.
Police described the operation as successful and reiterated their commitment to conducting similar disruptive operations aimed at curbing crime and improving safety within communities across the Kampala Metropolitan area.
