JINJA – A delegation from Victoria University, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Muganga, paid a courtesy call to the Busoga Kingdom at the Kyabazinga’s Palace in Igenge, Jinja District, in a move aimed at strengthening education ties through technology-driven learning.
The visit highlighted the shared commitment of both Victoria University and the Busoga Kingdom to transform the region’s educational landscape through innovative and practical approaches. Prof. Muganga emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that the Kingdom’s educational vision can only be realized through strategic partnerships with institutions that deliver tangible results.
“Our presence here today reaffirms Victoria University’s unwavering support for the Kingdom’s aspirations. Together, we can shape a new, forward-thinking generation in Busoga,” Prof. Muganga said.
Marketing and Student Recruitment Manager Conan Businge Daniel showcased the university’s modular education system, which impressed the Kyabazinga, His Majesty William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV. The King praised the university’s commitment to student-centered, practical learning models and acknowledged its role in driving educational excellence in the region.
Julius Bukyana, the university’s Public Relations Manager, noted that the Kingdom’s decision to partner with Victoria University is a testament to the institution’s growing footprint and influence.

“The Kingdom recognizing Victoria University at this level is proof of the impact we’ve made — it’s a moment of pride for us,” Bukyana stated.
Dr. Shamim K. Matovu, Director of Cooperative Education, also briefed the King on the university’s industry-based mentorship and work placement programs. She explained how these initiatives are bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world experience, modernizing Uganda’s traditional education model.
In his remarks, His Majesty the Kyabazinga expressed deep appreciation for the university’s rapid growth and international reputation. He commended Victoria University for aligning with the Kingdom’s educational goals and contributing to a brighter future for the people of Busoga.
