RUKUNGIRI — One person has died in a fatal road crash along the Rukungiri–Ntungamo Road in Rukungiri District.
The crash occurred at about 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Rwabigangura in Kebisoni, according to the territorial police in Rukungiri.
Police identified the deceased as Onesmus Natukunda, who was driving a dark-blue Toyota Sienta, registration number UA 925BL, when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle overturned several times, resulting in Natukunda’s death.
Nelson Tumushime, the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and urged motorists to exercise caution while using the roads.
Police advised drivers to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy and to strictly observe traffic rules, particularly against speeding and dangerous overtaking.
