KYANKWANZI, Uganda — The National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC) has launched a patriotism training and orientation programme for Ugandan nationals repatriated from South Africa under the Government’s Voluntary Repatriation Programme.
The training, taking place at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi, is intended to help the returnees reconnect with national values while equipping them with the mindset and skills needed for successful reintegration into Ugandan society.
Speaking at the opening of the programme, NSPC Commissioner Hellen Seku said the initiative is aimed at nurturing responsible citizens who can actively contribute to Uganda’s social and economic transformation.
She urged the participants to embrace the core values of discipline, integrity, hard work, responsibility, patriotism and loyalty to the country, noting that these principles are essential for personal success and national development.
“The future of Uganda depends on citizens who are committed to serving their country with integrity, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility,” Seku told the participants.
The National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps, operating under the Office of the President, is mandated to promote patriotism, national unity and civic responsibility among Ugandans through structured training and civic education programmes.
Among those attending the orientation are Billy Katumba, Dissani Kasassa, and other Ugandans who recently returned from South Africa through the government-led voluntary repatriation initiative.
