Police in Rukiga District are investigating a burglary and theft incident at Bukinda Cooperative Village Financial Services in Muhanga Town Council.
The incident occurred on the night of September 29, 2026, at Kagunga Cell, Rutare Ward, Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga District.
According to Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime, unknown individuals reportedly broke into the SACCO premises at about 2:00am and stole an unspecified amount of money and other property.
Police said two laptops belonging to the SACCO were also taken during the incident.
Tumushime appealed to members of the public with information that could help identify the suspects to report to the nearest police station.
He assured the public that police are investigating the matter and will work to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The incident comes amid continued police efforts to investigate cases of burglary and theft reported across the Kigezi region.
