A woman, believed to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit, assisted law enforcement in locating a firearm concealed beneath the bed of one Vincent Emodo.
The woman identified as Josephine Nyapendi is alleged to have made revelation during prayers.
On October 26, 2024, at approximately 5 PM in Pereje Cell, Pereje Ward, within the Apokor Town Council of Tororo District, police acted on a tip-off about a gun hidden in Emodo’s residence.
During a press conference at the police headquarters in Naguru, a suburb of Kampala, on October 28, 2024, police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma revealed that the information came from Josephine Nyapendi.
She asserted that her possession by holy spirits compelled her to inform Alfonse Onyapidi, who was leading prayers at the time about the firearm’s location.
“Police recovered an SMG rifle with a bullet already chambered. A further search of Emodo Vincent’s residence yielded one magazine containing 29 rounds of ammunition,” he added.
Kituuma mentioned that when the weapon was discovered, Emodo Vincent had already escaped to evade capture; nonetheless, law enforcement managed to arrest him on October 27, 2024.
