Prudential Uganda is strengthening its professional adviser force as Prudential Africa emerges as the region’s leading Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) business. Prudential’s Nigeria and Ghana operations consistently rank No. 1 in their respective markets and feature among MDRT’s 2026 Global Top 100 companies worldwide, reflecting the growing strength and professional excellence of Prudential advisers across Africa, including Uganda.

MDRT is recognised internationally as a benchmark for professional excellence in life insurance and financial services. Across Prudential Africa, MDRT performance has grown significantly. In the first half of 2026, 275 Prudential advisers in Africa qualified for MDRT, following 662 qualifiers in the whole of 2025. In Uganda, 41 advisers qualified for MDRT in 2025, reflecting the country’s contribution to this growth. For Uganda, this wider momentum reinforces Prudential’s focus on building a stronger, more professional adviser force that gives customers quality financial guidance and helps more families plan for their future.

This progress is supported by Prudential plc’s premier sponsorship with MDRT, a three-year global partnership launched in 2025. Through the partnership, advisers across Prudential’s markets, including Uganda, gain access to global learning, leadership development, peer networking and the sharing of best practices.

Emmanuel Mokobi Aryee, Chief Executive Officer, Prudential Africa, said: “Across Africa, more individuals and families are recognising the importance of planning for their financial future. There is a significant opportunity for our advisers to make a meaningful difference in their communities. Africa is Prudential’s fastest-growing MDRT community globally, and we are proud of the progress being made. By continuing to grow our agency force, we are expanding access to quality advice, serving more customers and helping raise professional standards in the industry.”

Behind every MDRT qualifier is a clear pathway from recruitment to professional excellence, combining product and sales training, needs-based advisory coaching, mentorship from experienced leaders and digital tools. This enables advisers to focus on what matters most: building trust, understanding customers’ needs and helping them make informed financial decisions.

Tetteh Ayitevie, Chief Executive Officer, Prudential Uganda, said: “In Uganda, life insurance still has significant room to grow, and quality financial advice is central to changing that. We want our advisers to be trusted professionals who understand the realities Ugandan families face, from educating their children and protecting household income to saving and planning for the future. MDRT gives our advisers access to global standards, learning and a culture of excellence. Our investment in training, technology and mentorship is therefore about one thing: helping more Ugandans receive the quality advice they need to make sound long-term financial decisions.”

This momentum is backed by the scale of Prudential Africa’s parent company, Prudential plc, which operates the second-largest MDRT agency force in the world. In its half-year results for the six months to June 2026, Prudential plc reported an 8 per cent increase in new business profit to US$1,384 million, with margins expanding two percentage points to 40 per cent.

Agency generated 53 per cent of Prudential’s total new business profit, with new business profit per active agent rising 9 per cent year-on-year. This highlights the central role of a professional and productive adviser force in Prudential’s growth. In Africa, annual premium equivalent sales grew at a double-digit rate over the same period, with the business holding top-three positions in several key markets.

Prudential Africa now has 12,000 advisers across Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria, up 71 per cent over five years, serving 2.6 million customers, up from 1.7 million in 2021. The continued growth of the adviser network supports Prudential’s ambition to reach more customers with professional financial advice while creating career opportunities across its African markets.

Outside South Africa, life insurance penetration across Africa stands at 0.31 per cent, with a density of just US$5 per person per year, representing a substantial opportunity. In Uganda, Prudential is responding to this protection gap by investing in professional standards, technology and adviser capability, with the aim of making financial protection and long-term planning more accessible to individuals and families.
