Police at Kira Road have arrested three suspects in connection with the a case of aggravated robbery and murder of a young business woman by strangulation.
The victim, identified as Diana Namulinde , 24, a businesswoman and social media content creator, was found dead in her apartment in Kwaata Zone, Nyanja Ward, Kawempe Division.
According to the deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, the killing is believed to have occurred on the night of February 3, 2026.
Her body was discovered the following day after friends, concerned by her silence, went to check on her and found the apartment door open. She lived alone.
In a significant development, Owoyesigyire revealed that police arrested a security guard attached to the premises on the same day after he was found in possession of items suspected to have been stolen.
Some of the recovered property was later confirmed to belong to the deceased.
Homicide detectives, together with Scene of Crime Officers, processed and documented the scene, recovering several exhibits and recording statements from key witnesses.
Police reports that three suspects have so far been identified, with two already in custody to aid investigations.
The body of the deceased was conveyed to Kampala Capital City Authority Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Owoyesigyire said investigations into the murder are still ongoing.
