The crash occurred at about 8:00 a.m. on February 3, 2026, in Kasana, Kiwoko Town Council, when a white Toyota Hiace (registration UA746CH) traveling from Ngoma toward Luwero slammed head-on into a white Tata vehicle (registration UBJ 081B) coming from Kiwoko toward Butalangu. The drivers of both vehicles have not yet been identified.
Police confirmed the deceased as Joy Kusigwire, 22, and Nathan Nuwenyine, both passengers in the Toyota Hiace and residents of Kyabiguuru, and Martin Kingongo, 43, a passenger in the Tata vehicle.
The Hiace was carrying numerous passengers at the time of the crash. At least nine men,two women, and two young girls sustained injuries, though their identities are still being verified. All the injured were rushed to Kiwoko Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The Savannah Region police spokesperson, Sam Twineamazima said bodies of the three victims were taken to Nakaseke Hospital for postmortem examinations.
Traffic police from the Nakaseke Traffic Department visited the scene, documented the incident, and launched investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash and establish the identities of the drivers involved.
Police have urged motorists to exercise caution on the Luwero–Butalangu Road, observe speed limits, and avoid reckless driving to prevent further loss of life.
