Exim Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting culture, creativity, and community development with a sponsorship of UGX 5,000,000 towards the upcoming Kampala City Festival 2025 (KCF 2025).
The cheque was officially handed over by Exim Bank’s Deputy CEO, Anthony Mariiro, to Ms. Sheila Birungi, Director of Gender, Community Services and Production at KCCA and Chairperson of the Kampala City Festival Committee, alongside Ms. Monica Nyakasiki, KCCA’s Director of IT.
Speaking at the handover, Mr. Mariiro noted that the bank’s contribution reflects its long-standing values of inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability, principles that align closely with this year’s festival theme.
“Exim Bank is proud to support an event that brings together the people of Kampala in celebration of our culture, diversity, and creativity. The festival mirrors the spirit of innovation and progress that we, as a bank, champion every day,” he said.
Ms. Birungi applauded Exim Bank for its timely support, highlighting that partnerships with the private sector are critical to ensuring the festival’s continued growth and impact.
“The Kampala City Festival has become a symbol of unity, creativity, and progress. Exim Bank’s contribution goes a long way in making this year’s edition more vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable,” she remarked.
The eighth edition of the Kampala City Festival is scheduled to take place on 12th October 2025, just ahead of Uganda’s 63rd Independence Anniversary celebrations.
This year’s edition is expected to draw thousands of revellers, artists, innovators, and cultural practitioners to the heart of the city for a colourful celebration of Kampala’s past, present, and future.
