The Chaplain of Trinity College Nabbingo, Fr. John Chrysostom Kiwanuka, has inducted the college’s new prefecture body and urged its members to serve with discipline and dignity, which he described as the cornerstone principles of effective leadership.
Fr. Kiwanuka made the remarks during the Mass for the swearing-in ceremony of the new prefecture body. In his homily, he emphasized that strong leadership is nurtured through discipline, hard work, and a commitment to serving both one’s institution and God, regardless of the challenges encountered.
He noted that becoming a good leader begins with a personal choice to embrace discipline and diligence, coupled with the ability to guide, mentor, and inspire others with passion and integrity.
The chaplain congratulated the outgoing leadership team, led by Head Prefect Kebirungi Lisa, Students’ Council President Nakisitu Rhonah, and Minister for Welfare Nakyanzi Elsie, for their exemplary service. He said the leadership experience they gained would effectively prepare them to become responsible and well-rounded leaders in the future.
Speaking on behalf of the outgoing cabinet, Nakisitu Rhonah expressed gratitude to the college administration and the student body for entrusting them with the responsibility of leadership. She described their tenure as a journey marked by resilience, sacrifice, and service, which has prepared them for future leadership opportunities.
In her acceptance remarks, Humure Yvette Eva pledged that the new leadership team would serve the college diligently through consultation, teamwork, and guidance from Almighty God.
The College Headmistress, Immaculate Nasozi Lwanga, congratulated all stakeholders involved in the leadership transition and commended the students for demonstrating their leadership potential. She described Trinity College Nabbingo as a springboard for nurturing future leaders who embody integrity, humility, and excellence.
Ms. Lwanga reminded the incoming prefects that her office remains open for consultation and guidance. She assured them of the administration’s full support and commitment to providing the necessary logistical assistance to enable them to effectively serve the college community.
