RUBiS Energy Uganda has announced a major expansion of its operations across the country, combining the rollout of its UltraTec advanced fuel technology with new service stations, expanded convenience retail outlets and upgraded customer facilities.

The expansion is being driven under the company’s “Choose Better with UltraTec Fuel” campaign, which promotes fuel technology designed to clean engine deposits, improve vehicle performance, support better fuel mileage, reduce emissions and help motorists save money.

According to RUBiS, the launch is part of a broader transformation of its retail network, following the rebranding of most of its service stations to improve visibility, consistency and access to its growing range of products and services.

The company has added 10 new service stations to its network, including RUBiS Nabbingo, Naluvule, Nakirebe, Lyantonde, Busabala, Kulambiro, Kasangati, Kisoga, Namusera and Masaka Bypass.

“Our growth is about much more than opening new stations. We are building a stronger RUBiS brand across Uganda while making our products, services and customer experience better and more accessible,” said William Fillet, Managing Director of RUBiS Energy Uganda.

“We are glad to now have nationwide coverage to support industries, transporters and emerging economic hubs,” he added.

RUBiS has also established 18 Castrol lubricant service bays across its network, giving customers easier access to specialised lubricants and related services.

The company has further introduced dedicated Castrol Power 1 boda service points, offering riders oil-change support and other services. The initiative targets boda boda riders, who form a major part of Uganda’s transport and commercial economy.

Beyond fuel and automotive services, RUBiS has expanded its convenience retail business and now operates 30 RUBiS Enjoy shops, with five additional outlets currently under construction.

The shops are designed to provide customers with everyday essentials and other convenience services, transforming RUBiS stations into destinations that serve a wider range of customer needs beyond refuelling.

The company has also invested in facility upgrades, including improved customer toilet facilities, as part of efforts to provide a cleaner, more consistent and comfortable experience across its stations.

To support the expansion with skilled personnel, RUBiS has unveiled the RUBiS Training Excellence Centre at its Nabbingo station.

The centre will provide practical training in retail operations, customer service, safety and operational excellence, using visual learning and simulations to equip employees with the skills required to maintain consistent service standards across the growing network.

“The Training Centre reflects another important part of our growth strategy. A growing network needs the right people, skills and standards behind it,” Fillet said.

“We are investing not only in stations and products, but also in people and their capabilities to ensure customers receive a consistent and impressive RUBiS experience wherever they meet our brand,” he added.

The expansion was welcomed by H.E. Virginie Leroy, Ambassador of France to Uganda, who was the guest of honour at the event.

Leroy said RUBiS’s continued investment in Uganda demonstrates the value of long-term business partnerships between France and Uganda and highlighted the role of responsible private-sector investment in supporting economic activity and improving services.

“RUBiS’s continued investment in Uganda is a positive demonstration of the role responsible private-sector investment can play in supporting economic activity, creating opportunities and delivering better services to communities,” she said.

She also commended the company’s UltraTec “Choose Better” campaign and solarisation projects, noting their contribution to efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

With more than 75 service stations across Uganda, RUBiS Energy Uganda is positioning itself for its next phase of growth by combining modern fuel technology with expanded retail services, wider geographical coverage and improved customer service standards.
